Straight Up & Down is the sixth track on “24K Magic,” the third studio album of American pop Singer Bruno Mars. The track starts off with some cheeky but clever lines (“Girl, I bet your momma named you good lookin’-‘Cause you sure look good to me”) that are worth a few laughs. The flow in the first four lines of each verse is, to me, pretty special because the words just sound as though they’re gracefully stair-stepping off of each other. The track’s 80s R&B sound alone already makes you want to dance on someone but then you add Mars’s signature voice and the excellent flow that he keeps and it becomes something smooth as ice.
