Get You – Daniel Caesar

Get You is the first track on “Freudian,” the first studio album of Canadian soul/R&B singer Daniel Caesar. There’s some quality of the track that makes it dramatic. That’s the best way I can put it. You just feel like you’re in slow motion as it plays even though it isn’t necessarily a slow track. Aside from that, the chorus is something that would make people near wherever the track is playing stop talking. The first part of the chorus swells with more sound and then it vanishes and leaves only Daniel’s levitating falsetto that just sails, putting all of the emphasis on his voice. Also, in Kali Uchis’ verse most of the words she sings have this sexy sluggishness that adds to the smooth sex appeal of the track.
